The Rural Missourian

These are the musings, aphorisms, and reflections of a grizzle-bearded pastor and novice historian living in the wooded hills of rural Missouri or Mizzurah as some put it in these parts. Included, as I am able to mine the riches of history, are the musings of various pioneers who, through toilsome work and dogged determination, blazed the difficult paths that built our once prosperous, agrarian culture. Soli Deo Gloria!

"Ready or Not, Bird Flu Is Coming to America"

The title of this post is not mine, but comes from an ABC News Report released yesterday, which of course reveals nothing that we have not already heard. It does, however, give a glimpse into the thinking and strategy of some of the movers and shakers from the US government, the Council on Foreign Relations, and “poultry industry experts” who form our nation’s public policy as it concerns this “dire global threat,” which apparently has become so urgent that immediate action needs to be taken by all of us. Quoting from the article, “In a remarkable speech over the weekend, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt recommended that Americans start storing canned tuna and powdered milk under their beds as the prospect of a deadly bird flu outbreak approaches the United States. Ready or not, here it comes.

This report is another typical propaganda piece which gives the same warnings we have heard so many times before – that whether it happens now or not it is only inevitable that a bird flu pandemic will eventually hit. In my opinion, which is based in part upon the consistent track record of pagan governments throughout history, the “impending” bird flu pandemic is not what we should concern ourselves with, but rather the strategy behind these dire warnings, which includes the implementation of “industry precautions” that we are told in the report will resemble a military mission, “America's poultry farms could become ground zero as infected flocks fly over. The industry says it is prepared for quick action. "All the birds involved in it would be destroyed, and the area would be isolated and quarantined," said Richard Lobb of the National Chicken Council. "It would very much [look] like a sort of military operation if it came to that."

I must admit that with all the litigation being brought these days against those who fail the public’s trust through neglect or abuse coupled with the fact that career politicians live solely for their next term, leads me to conclude that much of these warnings can be chalked up as the pragmatism of politicians, bureaucrats, and pundits of the reigning political parties in attempting to stay ahead of the game in keeping the public convinced that their elected public officials and industry leaders are “staying on top of things while looking out for their wellbeing.” Though one may consider much of these warnings to be, therefore, political wolf crying, they should not be quickly dismissed, by any means. History has also clearly shown that these warnings are often the heralds of new legislation and action, which should concern us, if we have learned anything from history.

Whenever the American media—which is owned and run by corporations that have a decided “fiduciary” interest in seeing that the government take certain types of action beneficial to them—repeatedly barrages the public with dire warnings of impending calamity or with stories of terrible abuse or prejudice, know for sure that the case and groundwork is being laid to rationalize new legislation and action which benefits the corporate state in resolving them. I am not being crass here either, as the highly lucrative war against the unborn in the womb and terrorist afar has shown us. Do not forget that there is a multi-billion dollar professional lobbying industry behind these warnings, which should cause us real concern since it means that our public policy, including that which will deal with the inevitable bird flu pandemic, is being sold to the highest corporate bidder. I wonder when Monsanto and Con-Agra will join in to save us?

The real heart of the issue is this: no matter how much a people or nation seeks to be governed by those who “will serve and protect them in a just manner,” whenever they use dishonest weights and unjust measures (which our usurious, debt-cased system clearly is) to conduct their government and business, it opens the doors wide for filthy lucre to be made on every single issue, without exception, especially the issues that are emotionally charged such as justice, charity, and those of a sufficient magnitude to threaten our “national security.”

In the decidedly pagan nation of America the love of mammon which is wealth personified into a god which gives power and control to those who worship it – defiles everything it touches while deceiving the many into believing that their leaders can render true justice and charity while creating good business opportunities from them at the same time . . . and through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not (2 Pet. 2:3). This couldn’t be anymore the case than with the multibillion dollar industry of aborticide which was established to “protect and promote the constitutional rights of downtrodden women,” while at the same time establishing a very lucrative, government protected and supported industry that also creates jobs for tens of thousands through related “non-profit” organizations and government agencies, while also providing a powerful platform for the reelection of many career politicians, let alone the hundreds of billions to be made by the pharmaceutical corporations in the manufacturing of chemical aborticides. Wow! The list of monetary and career benefits is near endless when an industry can be created by public policy that allows it, in the name of compassion and justice, to make merchandise of tens of millions of slaughtered babies.

Remember all the media hype in the days prior to Roe v. Wade when the newspapers and evening news were full of gripping stories about women dying from illegal “back alley” abortions while countless others were be grievously harmed because they could not abort the “fetuses” that were threatening their health? How that the mean spirited morality of certain Americans (namely God-fearing Christians) was trampling upon the “constitutional rights” of women to privacy and personal choice? Ah yes, the just causes of pagan governments to save the downtrodden and abused from such evil. Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? They gather together against the life of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood (Psa. 94:20-21).

Though there are likely some who hold a sincere and honorable regard for their fellow man in warning them of a potential bird flu pandemic, I strongly suspect that much of the bird flu hype has behind it the same exploitive love of mammon that the abortion industry was created by – especially given the abominable track record that pagan rulers, moneychangers, and corporate chieftains have in working together to “bring home the bacon” through making merchandise of crises, real or imagined. The “precautionary” political, economic, and commercial actions that we are told must take place to prevent the “inevitable,” all of course for the “health and wellbeing of the public,” just happen, coincidentally, to help insure that the corporate industrial state maintain its present economic and political supremacy, no matter what happens, while also creating more lucrative industries in the process, a win-win situation for them.

The “industry precautions” mentioned in the report will likely be implemented incrementally and in an orderly fashion that will appear to the public to be “prudent, wise, and fair,” which many of those who formed them sincerely believe to be so, since they, being mammon worshipping idolaters, sincerely believe that not only is the corporate state the only hope for mankind during a disaster such as a flu pandemic, but it is the only hope for mankind to achieve financial security, freedom, and long-term peace. This is why they will fight tooth and nail to preserve their power and control over the nation’s economy, land, and people. Their actions are consistent with the god they truly worship, unlike so many “Christians” that profess Christ while seeking the peace and prosperity of the wicked that surround them (Deu 23:6, Ezra 9:10-12). In the last hundred years, Americans have lost far more freedom and wealth by what was done by their corporate statist masters in “prudently protecting them” from potential harm than they could ever have happened should their “dire predictions” have come to pass. But then again, it isn’t hard to pull the wool over the eyes of those who have no sight, because they long ago had cast off the Law of their God, the lamp that lights the way of those that fear Him and the only basis for a truly just, prosperous, and free nation.

David Hannum, banker and business associate of PT Barnum, once said, “There is a sucker born every minute.” This was in reference to the hoax he created called the Cardiff Giant that made good money for him in the circus industry. In true banking fashion, the gargantuan hoax of the corporate state created by the moneychangers of our present debt-based system has made suckers of nearly all, even those that name the Lord. It’s high time we remedy the wool pulled over the eyes of us believers by returning the Law of God as our standard for everything we do. This alone will stay the hand of plague and plunderers since these come by God’s hand as judgments against His people for their generational sin and blindness. May the Cardiff Giant of our present corporate state be brought down by the humble repentance and reformation of God’s people to His praise and glory, amen!

Thank you for that thought-provoking article. Perhaps it is time we realized that we should be prepared to care for our families ALL of the time, not just when the whistle is sounded over the television. And the old saying "follow the money" still holds up.

FWIW: The Cardiff Giant was "discoverd" here in central NY, not far from where I live. It is now housed in the Farmer's museum at Cooperstown NY.

I happened to see a bit of a morning news program last week and there was a lady from the red cross telling people to have 10 days of food, medication, bottled water and such in case the bird flu hits. She said that schools might be closed so be sure to have games for the children to play if they stay home. She said the electricity could be off so to have battery powered radios. She said natural gas could be shut off so to have food that did not need to be cooked.

I believe in preparedness but this advice for this issue seemed out of proportion to the reality of the situation.

If the electricity is shut down for an extended period of time, if municipal water does not flow, if grocery stores are not open to purchase food, we are going to see something very bad happen in this country.

It will not surprise me but the vehicle to make this occurr--bird flu-- does surprise me.

I can't help but think we are being manipulated. This is hype. They are creating a problem out of thin air in order to implement something that will, in the end, be far worse than the problem. That's my opinion. I hope I'm wrong.

Thanks for the good and timely post.
